This one is strictly between you and your god. Here comes a big blessing your way on Mahasivarathri day – Monday, February 20, 2012. The founder of the Sri Danvantri Arogya Peedam, Sri Muralidhara Swamigal, has always let devotees get that much closer to their object of devotion that it thrills them for the rest of their lives. He is going to allow devotees to do paneer (rosewater) abhishekam with vilva leaf for the beautiful Maragathalingam that is installed at the peedam in Walajapet, Vellore district, and for also the 468 Siddhars, installed in the form of Lingams out in the open, on Mahasivarathri day this year.

The swamigal would be at hand to guide the devotees on this precious event.
On the auspicious occasion of Mahasivarathri, for the welfare of the world and its beings, ‘Maha Panchakshara homam’ will also be performed at the peedam.
The speciality of lord Siva at the Danvantri Peedam is that this is the only place where he shines as Maragathalingam, along with Nandhi peedam, a rare sight.
Three homams will be conducted as part of the Maha Panchakshara homam - Amavasai homam, Ragu-Kethu homam and Sudharshana homam.
A note from the peedam invites everyone to participate in the auspicious homam and receive the blessings of more than 50 deities, 468 Siddhars and Vastu Bhagawan for a disease- and disorder-free life.
