Chennai-based education support services company EdServ has announced that the company’s HumThum apps (ht.im) has entered the Limca Book of Records for a national record in 2011 for launching 24,000 pincode area-wise websites in one go. EdServ has become the first company in India to do so.
HumThum is a mobile-based knowledge apps that can be accessed anywhere, anytime from the mobile smart phone. Over 150,000 users have accessed HumThum’s mobile apps.
Developed in-house at EdServ, HumThum apps provides educational support services that include doubt clearing, tutor search and assessments, career services and local area-based services across these 24,000 pincodes and is also a platform for sharing news and undertaking e-commerce activities that include selling and shopping online and serves as a discussion forum for various topics.
EdServ’s educational content and tuition services are available across all Samsung, BlackBerry and Nokia smart phones. HumThum application has a PDF converter, a ‘Talking Dictionary’ and also helps users to design, host and update their own personal or business website from the mobile phone. HumThum apps is also promoted through Aircel outlets.
Commenting on the achievement, S Giridharan, chairman and CEO, EdServ, said, “HumThum apps’ achievement in gaining national recognition in the very first year of the launch as India’s largest pincode-wise network for knowledge sharing and e-commerce is an important milestone for the company and will help the company in its national expansion.”
