APL Global School hosted ‘Synergy’, their very first inter-school cultural fest, on November 29-30, 2011. As principal Kiran Merchant explained, “Synergy is the interaction of two things in order to make something better.”
So, it was the perfect name for the culturals. The two chief guests – Anil Srinivasan, internationally renowned musician, for the inauguration, and Raja Krishnamoorthy, actor, entrepreneur and HR consultant, for the awards ceremony – greatly inspired all as they addressed the gathering.

Over the two days, there were 23 events and over 100 volunteers from the student body who worked their socks off to make it a roaring success. The events spanned a range of life skills. Events such as Corporate Tycoon and Media Moguls focused on business.
In literature and theatre, there were events such as Mocking Bird, Out Loud and Words Worth. Floor Art, Style Icon and Paper Artizte allowed the creativity and talent of budding artistes to shine through. Musical and dance talents were showcased in events such as Nightingales, Shake It and Rhythmic Moves.
Schools like GT Aloha Vidhya Mandir; Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary; PSBB Millennium; Vael’s Billabong High International; Al Fajr International; Sishya (OMR Branch); The Grove; Gateway International and AMM Matriculation Higher Secondary participated.

Yagappa International came all the way from Thanjavur to take part in Synergy. Many participants enjoyed the events and made comments such as “awesome”, “groovy” and “superb”.
When Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya school was presented the trophy for being the overall winners, they exclaimed “APL rocks!” Even the judges remarked on how well-organised the event was and how mature and enthusiastic the volunteers were.
