Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts – DBICA, the center of excellence for training in media studies for more than 15 years is now become Chennai’s first Exclusive Art & Design College with its unique mix of innovative courses of study in media.  The formal inauguration of the courses and the investiture ceremony for the first batch of students took place here in Chennai on July 27^th which was then followed by an orientation program.The Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour who crowned the Inaugural programme are Mr. Bhimsingh Lenin, the well known editor, writer and director, Mr. R.K. Selvamani, the Tamil film maker and producer, Mr. Ravi Maria, Film maker and actor, Mr. SS Stanley, the Tamil film maker and Rev. Dr. Jayapalan Raphael, the Chairman of Don Bosco Institutions, Tamil Nadu.DBICA offers a mix of under-graduate and diploma programs designed to meet the challenges of the communication & design industry. The curriculum will include hands-on practical learning designed at par with premier art & design colleges in UK & Europe. A team of experienced faculty from various institutes all over India with seasoned technicians and skillful artistes form part of this new venture, which adds a dynamic thrust to the programs.Undergraduate programs in Textile Design, Product Design, Ceramic Design, Furniture and interior design will also be introduced shortly. Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts – DBICA, the media wing and the communication centre of the Salesian province of Chennai which had its humble beginnings in the late nineties is today a full-fledged communication centre. In its decade and a half long existence, DBICA has emerged as a premier media institute actively involved in imparting values, skills and promoting media literacy among young people. To this end DBICA has been conducting training in Media and Communication, Special courses in Photography, Videography, Acting, Editing, and producing Short Films, Documentaries and informative Social Videos.
