Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy today assured all assistance to the fishermen affected in the Thane cyclone here.He told a delegation comprising members of mechanised boat owners association, deep sea mechanised boat owners association and FRB boat owners association who called on him and sought support as during the time of tsunami, that both the situations were different.
The Chief Minister said during the tsunami only the fishermen were affected but in the cyclone the entire Puducherry region was affected.
However, the administration was committed to provide all assistance, he said, adding relief would be provided immediately after the announcement of interim relief by the Centre. He also asked them to cooperate with the officials coming to their area to assess the damages.
